Course Description |
Musical cultures in ancient civilizations. Ancient Mesopotamian and Anatolian music cultures. Evaluation of European social
and cultural life in Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, Classic and Romantic Eras and the placement of music in that period.
Composers, instruments, musical forms and styles, studies on music theory. Composers of Baroque Era: Bach, Handel,
Telemann, Vivaldi. Composers of Classic Era: Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn. Composers of Romantique Era: Weber, Spohr,
Schubert, Berlioz. Social and cultural life of Europe in 20th century, and review on the placement of music. Modernism and
impressionism, and composers of these trends: Debussy, M. Ravel. Shöenberg and twelve-tone music.Polyphonic music in
Turkey at the very beginning of Republican Era. |
