| Course Description |
| Learning general music knowledge. Learning general music knowledge about Turkish music and European music
theories. Learning the interval of 2nd and alterations, tetrachords and pentachords which used in Turkish music
Learning concepts of scale-makam and their relationships. Learning important pitch in scale. Learning general
makam definition, makam classification and makam elements. Learning Rast, Uşşak, Bayati, Buselik, Kürdi and
Çargah makams which are in main makams. Practicing with sample etudes, pieces and melodic progression
exercises in learned makams and usuls. Being able to make makam analysis and general overview. |
