Course Description |
The course covers modern monetary economics and banking. Starting with the role of money in the economy, interest rates and
financial instruments, it continues with financial intermediation and banking theories. Later central banks in the world,
transmission mechanisms of monetary policy, optimal institutional and operational set-up of monetary policy as well as issues
related to financial imperfections and macro-financial linkages are the main topics discussed. |
