Course Description |
In the context of the importance of building-material-environment relationship in architecture, the content of the course is
covered with two basic approaches: Firstly, environmental factors that cause damage in the structure are explained and the
damage mechanisms of these factors depending on the type of material are examined. Secondly, the measures that can be taken
in structures against these environmental factors and the materials that can be used in protection are described. Protection
methods and materials used are classified. In this context, bitum based materials, mineral based external plasters, latex based
plasters and finishing systems, silicons, paints, pore filling chemicals, pastes, dilatation materials, water barrier bands, etc.
materials are introduced and their applications are explained. |
