Course Description |
The Gamma and Beta Functions. The behavior of Gamma function for large |z|. Hypergeometric Function; The function
F(a;b;c;z), integral representation, the evaluation of F(a;b;c;1), the contiguous function relations, the Hypergeometric
differential equation, the linear and quadratic transformations. Generalized Hypergeometric Functions; the functions pFq, the
expressions of some elemantary functions in terms of pFq , the integral representation of pFq. Bessel Functions; Bessel’s
differential equation, recurrence relations, the generating function, integral representation, relations with trigonometric
functions. Neumann polynomials and Neumann series. Confluent Hypergeometric Functions; the first and second formulas of
Kummer. Legendre polynomials; A generating function, recurrence relations, Legendre differential equation, the Rodrigues
formula, Legendre polynomials in terms of 2F1, integral representation, series expansion of analytic functions with respect to
