Course Description |
Concrete as a building material, the nature of concrete, advantages and limitations of concrete, historical development of concrete,
cements, hydration of Portland cement, water quality, aggregates, admixtures for concrete, properties of fresh concrete, mix
design, handling and placing, curing, and architectural concrete are told. Mechanical properties of concrete, durability and other
properties, modern development of concrete are explained. Polymer-impregnated and fiber reinforced concretes are given as
special concretes. Properties of steel, reinforced concrete and wood are comparetively studied as structural building material. |
