Course Description |
In the "Introduction to Rotorcraft Systems" course, vehicle kinematics, dynamics and flight mechanics for helicopters and multi-rotor vehicles are examined in detail. Next, trim analysis, stability and control derivatives of rotorcraft systems are discussed. Rotor forces and moments, rotor wake and inflow dynamics, rotor dynamics will be examined and their effects on the aircraft are presented. Finally, linear and advanced control algorithms for rotorcraft systems including inner and outer control loops are elaborated and discussed in detail. Students are supposed to model and control the realistic rotorcraft (helicopter/multirotor system) and present their results together with the final project report as their final class project. |
