Throughout the course, covering the road geometric design together with its prerequisities, the content lectured is as
the following:
• Basic Concepts in Transportation & Highway Engineering;
• Road User Characteristics;
• Fundamentals of Highay Traffic;
• Geometric Standards of Highways;
• Highway Capacity, Design Traffic, & Roadway Design;
• Highway Location, Route Survey, & Horizontal Alignment;
• Design of Horizontal Geometry (Curves, Superelevation, & Spirals);
• Vertical Alignment & Design of Vertical Geometry (Profile & Curves);
• Urban Roads & Intersection Design;
• Fundamentals of Public Transit;
• Design & Management of Public Tranportation; and
• Fundamentals of Traffic Simulation. |
