Course Description |
This interdisciplinary course focuses on the design, construction, analysis, and control of the state-of-the-art micro/nano-
robotic systems for the Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Computer Science, BioEngineering, Chemical Engineering, etc.
students working on MEMS, nanotechnology, biotechnology, robotics, and medicine fields. It would cover the micro/nano-
scale physics, sensors, actuators, manipulators, power sources, interfacing, robotic design, and control issues. Besides the
basic background knowledge, it would include the current trends in the literature, detailed case studies, and guest lecturer
talks.
Course projects would involve hands-on rapid prototyping and testing experience using the facilities in Mechatronics Lab at
ITU. Active student participation, interaction, and in-class discussions are the main objectives. Physical capability of İTÜ
Mechatronics lab will be used for the experimental applications covered in the class. |
