Course Description
Field studies for place analysis. Dimensions of place. Types and archetypes of places. Design thinking and conceptualization. Design approaches and strategies. Experimental place studies for design problem resolutions. Comperative definitions of space and place. The relationship between open, semi-open, closed spaces and place patterns. Natural and built environment relations. Lost spaces and placemaking potentials. Place and settlement. Landscape, building and site relations. Visual and textual place representations.
