Course Description
Introduction, Overview of hull structural analysis and modelling, Types of FEM models used in offshore structures, Steps in the modelling process, Three Cargo Hold Model (or 3-tank model), Full ship model, Local Model, Finite Element Types, Model Idealization, Structural Representation, Elements and Mesh Size, Result evaluation / acceptance Criteria, Examples of local FEM models and non-linear FEM analysis, Offshore specific topside structural analysis.
