Course Description |
The course examines the relationship between garden and architecture in Antique Egypt, Antique Greece and Roman cultures. It
also covers garden design in the Middle Ages (Europe), garden design in the Byzantine geography and relationship between
garden and architecture in the Renaissance and Baroque styles. Garden designs in far and near eastern cultures are explained
through the examples of traditional Chinese and Japanese garden. The course contains also the concept of garden in the Islamic
culture. In this context traditional Iran garden, India-Moghul garden and the relationship between garden and architecture in
Turkish culture are also examined. |
