Course Description |
Historical Background of biomechanics. Blood rheology, deformations of red cells, blood rheolgy in capillaries, bio-viscoelastic
solids, mechanical properties of arteries, skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle. Bone and osteoid. Viscosity of blood,
pulsatile flow, elastic properties of arteries, pulsatile flow in elastic tubes, wave propagation in arteries, wave speed and
attenuation. Application of the theory of small deformations superimposed on large static deformation on blood flow. |
