Basic probability theory. Random variables and random functions. Common probability distributions. Deterministic stress
analysis. Safety factor approach. Statistical nature of loads, geometry, material and construction. Reliability of structures
described by one or more random variables. The second moment method of reliability analysis. Application of the second
moment method. Correlated and non-normal variables. Introduction to random vibration of discrete and continuous structural
systems. Reliability calculation of ship structures. |
