Course Description |
This course provides an introduction to the concepts of conservation and restoration, restoration theories of 19th and 20th
centuries, and the evolution of the conservation theory at the beginning of the 20th century. The course will focus on the use of
traditional building materials in the historic buildings and their deterioration processes. Particular topics such as binders, mortars
and plasters, repair mortar mixtures, methods of stone cleaning and consolidation methods and current application techniques will
be examined in the context of the course. |
