Course Description |
The aim of the course is to define the task and responsibilities of architects in conservation of archaeological sites and
presentation / display projects to society. For this purpose, the concept of archaeological site and different types of sites will be
explained and problems encountered in the protection of such areas will be discussed. Then, the theory developed for the
protection of archaeological sites from the beginning of the 19th century to the present will be introduced in the context of
various practices and national / international legal regulations. Special attention will be paid to the conservation and presentation
projects of urban archaeological sites, as architects often work in cities. |
