Course Description
Site investigations. Pretreatment methods. Design of infiltration systems. Fundamentals of land treatment. Mechanisms of land treatment. Removal of pollutants in the soil matrix. Land application of biosolids. Subsurface treatment systems. Slow rate systems. Rapid infiltration systems. Overland flow systems. Natural and constructed wetlands. Treatment systems with floating aquatic plants. Environmental and public health effects of land treatment systems.
