| Course Description |
| Zonal mean meridional circulation in the atmosphere, the transport of angular momentum, energy cycle of the Earth?s atmosphere,
Principal air masses, fronts in the tropical, mid-latitudinal and polar air. Polar front theory, linkage between upper air waves,
planetary waves and surface disturbances, long waves and short waves and their relation to synoptic disturbances, Transient and
steady eddies, 3D circulation in the atmosphere, Stratospheric cycle, stratosphere-troposphere exchange, global transport of
atmospheric constituents such as ozone and water vapor. |
