| Course Description |
| The course covers the post 18th century period of Ottoman architecture. Discussions about the changes in the architectural and
urban space during the 18th century; imperial modernization in the Tanzimat era and activities of foreign architects, introduction of
new architectural styles and new urban projects; Orientalism in the Ottoman architecture; Ottoman architecture in the world
exhibitions, the 1st National Movement; the development of professional identity, architectural education and professional
organizations constitute the main themes around which the course is organized. |
